Capcom surprised by the choice of the Street Fighter 6 logo. A logo available for 80 dollars in an Adobe image bank!
After a mysterious count, Capcom lifts the veil on the announcement of a new opus for one of the major franchises of the fighting game. Street Fighter 6 is coming to our consoles and the Japanese giant intends to delight the fans. For the occasion, the very strong community discovers a cutscene. Admittedly, no gameplay in sight, but the promise of a complete experience for Street Fighter enthusiasts. Capcom also presents a logo for Street Fighter 6. Except that surprise, the latter comes from an Adobe image bank and costs 80 dollars (about 60 euros). A strange choice on the part of the developer.
A logo available for 80 dollars on an Adobe site
We could speak in the conditional but in this specific case, it is difficult to deny the similarity. Ars Technica Writer Aurich Lawson Reveals Street Fighter 6 Logo (Cover Photo) Is Same only one image available for 80 dollars in an Adobe image store. Capcom uses slightly sharper angles and a thicker border. Not to mention the addition of the “6” to signify that this is the sixth Street Fighter in the main franchise. The studio does not communicate on this subject. Some players are getting annoyed at this lazy change of an iconic logo.
The creator of the logo available at Adobe, xcoolee, confirms at IGN its intention to sell the exclusive rights to Capcom. However, the studio may ultimately decide to go with another image. A final design could be proposed and the company shows no interest in xcoolee’s proposal.
A community divided over the new logo
One thing is sure, the iconic yellow and red logo is already missing from the community. An iconic logo since the first episode in arcades in 1987. We are waiting for the response from the developer of Resident Evil to confirm if the latter will stay… or not.
