Elon Musk has revealed that Tesla intends to offer a more extensive gaming offer in the future on board its electric vehicles. All Steam titles will be supported, promises the businessman.
It is already possible to run games on the Tesla Model S and X console. Thanks to Tesla Arcade, users can launch Cuphead, Sky Force Reloaded, Stardew Valley and most recently Sonic the Hedgehog. But the manufacturer does plan to offer a more complete offer to its flock. With this in mind, Elon Musk revealed that his teams would eventually integrate the Steam toy library into Tesla Arcade instead of making specific game ports each time.
“We are working on a way to make Steam titles work in general on Teslas rather than specific games,” the billionaire said on Twitter. Information that will please Tesla users who love gaming, even if no deployment date has yet been revealed. According to Electrek, Tesla should eventually offer paid video game packages in its electric cars.
Teslas will soon be running Steam games
All of this will obviously be possible thanks to the competition gaming PC integrated into the Tesla Model S and Model X. With its graphics power of 10 teraflops, it even rivals the PS5 in terms of performance. So that it could easily run AAA titles. It is also compatible with wireless controllers, allowing passengers to play from any seat. Also on Twitter, Musk recalled that he still plans to make Cyberpunk 2077 playable on the future Tesla Cybertruck, which is not scheduled for release before 2023.
If Tesla does not prevent the driver from playing while driving, we remind you that this practice is strongly discouraged. Gaming must remain the prerogative of passengers, the driver in front of him concentrating on the road even if the advent of autonomous driving greatly facilitates his task.
